Re: Hive 10 [ USA, Rhode Island ]

Yesterday I had a swarm in a nearby tree, many scouts looked at my small hive but the swarm flew away.
I think since I had the queen excluder in place that the cavity appeared to be to small.
I removed the queen excluder and am hoping for better results the next time.

Re: Hive 10 [ Rhode Island, USA ]

I did not change the size of the honey frames.
The honey frame spacing is 38mm.

Hive 10 [USA, Rhode Island]

Movable frames are required here so I changed the fixed-comb hive body to top-bar hive body and changed the internal dimensions to 300 x 300 x 227.5 mm which gave me 7, 31.75 mm top-bars.

The hive is 5 meters up and facing South.

Re: Hive 8 [France, Brittany]

Where is the entrance? In the pictures it looks like the entrance is facing the tree on all of the hives.
