How to start a hive report

Hive Reports is a message board administered by
It publishes hands-on experience in beekeeping with the here presented prototype hive.

To make your hive report, please follow these steps:
  1. Register to the message board, it is simple and fast (see right upper corner).
  2. Create a NEW TOPIC, one for each hive you have built.
  3. Identify your hive in the subject line by the next higher number in respect to already existing hives (e.g. Hive 10, Hive 11 ...), indicate your country and your region in brackets (e.g. Hive 10 [France, Brittany]).
  4. Add content (make short descriptions, upload pictures, embed videos).
You are encouraged to note all kind of observations you could made, including:
  • Survival - How long does a bee colony survive (nb of years) ?
  • Honey harvest - How much honey can be harvested on living/dead colonies (kg of honey per year)?
  • Multiplication - Do colonies swarm (yes/not observed)?
  • Attrativeness of the hive - Does it attract swarms (yes/not observed)?
Please mention and explain all modifications you made in respect to the original hive design.
All languages are welcomed, but if you can, please post in English.

How to upload images and embed videos

Upload your images from your computer directly to the message board by clicking on "Attachments" and "Insert". Please notice that this method is intended for image files only, for videos see below. (2) Videos
You can't upload videos directely to the message board.
(1) Upload your videos to or elsewhere.
(2) Copy and paste the link to the video into your message.
