Vespa velutina and Vespa crabro still hunting next to the hive entrance.
I took a picture to illustrate how guard bees typically cluster around the hive entrance.
Entrance wide is reduced to various degrees or even blocked.

Comb collaps detected, collapsed combs have been removed (no dead bees).
Bees have started new combs: some worker brood, but mainly filled with nectar.
Movable honey frame (empty) removed.

I added an insulating mat (Apifoam, 2cm thick, λ = 0.038 W/mK) under the metal roof.
I observed some forage activity at the hive entrance.

Bees (scout bees ?) visiting the hive.

Update (09 avril 2019): Flight activity at the hive entrance. A swarm may have been already arrived. To be confirmed.

Bees have had arrived one or two weeks ago, and I observed strong foraging activity during last days (including some pollen). Thursday (17 of Avril) I observed some turbulence around the hive entrance and later in the evening bees clustered underneath the hive entrance. Next morning (Wednesday 18 of avril), the cluster was still (or again ?) there. In the afternoon, a bee swarm setteled next to the hive (around 15 m away). It flied off 3 houres later, ignoring a bait hive (hive 05) played only 5 m away. Since then, forrage activity in hive no 1 is greatly reduced, despite good conditions (sunny days, flowering).

I think that hive 01 could have « swarmed ».

Today, I opended the hive.

When I opened the back of the hive without smoke, bees kept at first rather quiet.
Defensive behavior appiered 2-3 minutes later (some stings, bees clustering at the hive entrance).

The hive body was pretty full of fresh comb. I saw 5 combs (nb 2 to 6) reaching nearly from the top to the bottom. I did not see the lower edge of comb nb 1. The comb in the hive back had been started, but was empty (no bees, no honey). Comb nb 6 was full of capped (upper half) and uncapped (lower part) honey, no brood. In one place it was perforated, so that bees could pass through. At the lower edges of the combs in the hive body, I could distinguish at least 5 uncapped queen cells.

Today, I opened the hive again.
Queen cell cups at the bottom of the combs have disappeared.
No additional combs have been built.
Honey and nectar storage have diminished.
Defensive behaviour of the bees as the last time.

Bees are clustering above the hive entrance.
Increased forage activity, limetrees are flowering nearby (50 m).
