Vespa velutina is still present.
I removed the empty movable frame.
Not many bees visible inside the hive.

I added an insulating mat (Apifoam, 2cm thick, λ = 0.038 W/mK) under the metal roof.
I observed some forage activity at the hive entrance.

The colony is dead.
Almost no dead bees, but some honey storage.
Symptoms very similar to colonies collapsed in Warré hives during last years.

There are wax particels on the hive floor.
The first comb (next to the hive front) has not been completed.
Combs are at some positions attached to the hive wall.

In late may (may 24, 2019) I observed about 10 (scout?) bees at the hive entrance.
I was quite confident that this hive containing comb would attract a swarm.
However, 3 weeks later the hive is still empty.

Bees are still in the hive. It is a hot day, the hive is shaded, no bearding but some forage activity.
